Mark Rahner is a veteran journalist, comic book writer, podcaster, talk-radio host and game writer.
Rahner was the longtime pop-culture writer at The Seattle Times, where he was known for distinctively smart alec celebrity interviews, funny movie reviews and web-video satire. As a news reporter, he was on the team that won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news.
Rahner’s work has appeared in publications around the world including Wired, Fangoria, Stars and Stripes, Seattle Weekly and The Stranger. His political opinion columns have appeared in Yes! Magazine, The Stranger and RDT Daily.
Rahner is the creator of the acclaimed horror-western comic book, ROTTEN. His other comic work includes THE TWILIGHT ZONE, ARMY OF DARKNESS/REANIMATOR, GREEN HORNET, WARLORD OF MARS, DEJAH THORIS AND THE WHITE APES OF MARS, LORD OF THE JUNGLE, VAMPIRELLA, CTHULHU TALES and EDGAR ALLEN POE’S SNIFTER OF TERROR.
Rahner’s weekly “Special Ops” podcast is part of BJ Shea’s Geek nation at KISW. “The Mark Rahner Show” aired on KIRO, Seattle’s flagship news/talk station, 2013-2015.
Other media appearances include Headline News, MSNBC, the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame, as well as numerous podcasts and comic con signings.
A longtime Seattle dweller, Rahner now lives in Los Angeles.
